Yes, you...the retail .com giant. The only place that can make me buy things I really don't need but really, really want with your convenient one-click buying option. Oh, how easy it is to click on that tab! I have, to date, read about 25 books at about 10 bucks apiece on my Kindle due to your one-click buying option. Not only that, but I have an entire closet full of toys that seemed they would be fun for the children, that were tossed aside as soon as they realized the boxes they shipped in were much more intriguing. (I know that's not your fault, so don't cry about that).
But now, NOW! What have you done to me? You are EVIL! Asking me if I want to download your site to load as tabs at the top of my page!? OF COURSE I WANTED TO! And now, I don't even have to navigate away from work to buy something I simply must have. You evil, evil Amazon.com, oh how I love thee!

A BOOK FOR SOME COMIC RELIEF
I don't know about you all, but sometimes the news, politics, everyone bashing everyone else because they are Republican/Democrat/religious/not religious/Christian/atheist, and you know the list could go on for an eterinity here, gets to be a little much. I find myself on a self-imposed news hiatus, and in order to feel a little less hopeless about the way we are headed, I turn to comedic relief.
This was the case when I downloaded the book, "The Almost True Story of Ryan Fisher" by Rob Stennett.
The fast forward version of Ryan's life is that he is a real estate agent in a slump and makes the decision to place his ad in a Christian advertising book. Now, Ryan has never been to church, but soon he "signs up" and of course his real estate business soars, but based mostly on all the lies he is telling about his faith. He is a lovable guy, though, and he finally decides to move his wife from Denver to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to "plant" his own church.
In a matter of a few days he is known as Pastor Ryan. His first services are held at Chuck E. Cheese because that is the only place in town that will have him, and he preaches his first sermon on the stage with a "six foot robotic mouse behind me." His topics for his sermons have titles such as "God, The Fifth Beatle." Add to this mania that his worship music leader is a Karaoke singer named Cowboy Jack who finds his niche by taking Rock and Roll songs with "churchy" titles, like "Knockin' On Heaven's Door," and rewriting the lyrics to make them sound like Christian songs, and you can imagine the problems about to arise with this scheme.

THE SLOW READERS BOOK CLUB
Hello, everybody. My name is Kathy, and I am a book addict. I decided to seek help through Books Addicts Anonymous (BAA), when I realized instead of doing dishes, exercising, or sleeping I was devouring books to the tune of about one every day-and-a-half.
Some people enjoy dressing up and going out to party or meet people for dinner in the evenings, I prefer to slip into a warm pair of jeans, a big bulky sweatshirt, warm thick socks, curl up in the corner of the sofa, cover up with a warm quilt, and reach for my Kindle. Time passes, tears are shed if the book is particularly sad or particularly happy, and I have been known to laugh wildly when the author writes something funny. Books are my drugs. And I love them.

I love finding out what others are reading, and this book club has a lot of people picking books, forcing me to read something I might not have chosen, and their philosophy over there is that people should slow down and read...the name of the club would maybe indicate that they are looking for people who read slowly, but as they say, they do not judge how quickly you read, and if you read fast you're welcome, too. :0) I feel at home over there.
What are you guys all reading right now? I am big into celebrity autobiographies right now and am almost done with Tommy James' book, "Me, The Mob, and the Music." Fantastic read!
Okay, excuse me, I am going to leave the BAA meeting now and go finish my book before going to work. Sorry I interruped. Sorry, excuse me, see ya, have a good meeting. Could you please hand me that sweatshirt?
